BGP donates blood treatment equipment in Iran

An opening ceremony was held on Oct. 22, 2003 to celebrate the establishment of Cooley's Anemia Research Center in Mashhad, Iran. Cooley's Anemia, also known as Mediterranean Anemia, is prevalent in Mediterranean regions such as Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Indonesia, Burma & Thailand. It is usually fatal, occurs in infancy and leads to early death around age 20. Great attentions has been paid to this disease by Iran's medical professionals.

Because of a shortage of funds, some key facilities can not be fully equipped. Knowing this situation, BGP Iran Kish, the affiliate of BGP, donated two blood treatment units to the center. They hope the donation can help the center better serving the society and bring hope to the affected children.
