Middle East

Since 1996, our business in the Middle East has expanded from Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen, Iran, Syria, Iraq, and the UAE. The win-win policy and close cooperation have given rise to a good relationship between BGP and energy companies.

At present, BGP runs in the Middle East seventeen crews and a 2D streamer vessel, two processing and interpretation centers in Pakistan and Iran, two training centers in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, and an equipment center in the UAE.

BGP in Saudi Arabia

In March 2003, for the first time, BGP won a (4+1)-year 2D seismic data acquisition project S47 from Aramco in Saudi Arabia. Since then, BGP’s business there has been rapidly booming. We have provided services for such companies as Aramco, SRAK, ENIREPSA, and Sinopec in the nine onshore, transition zone, and offshore projects. Most of the projects need to be fulfilled in some years. The clients have been much satisfied with our quality seismic data.

BGP has had a good HSE performance in its operations in Saudi Arabia:
• Project S47, ongoing, 5 million man-hours without an LTI
• Project S49, finished, 6.26 million man-hours without an LTI
• Project S51, ongoing, 3 million man-hours without an LTI

Project SRAK

Located in a desert hinterland in Saudi Arabia, the project commenced on November 1st, 2005. According to the provisions in the contract, BGP carried out a 2D seismic program of 2500 km. To ensure successful production, Crew 8615 conducted a detailed scouting and a hazard and risk assessment, and finally made a practical operation plan.

The project was successfully completed on November 11th, 2006, with an HSE record of 1,215,000 man-hours without an LTI. The client awarded the Crew a plaque to recognize its good performance and commended it for the excellent result achieved in such a challenging environment.

BGP in Pakistan

In 1994, BGP entered Pakistan and provided 3D technology consulting services for OGDC. In 1995, BGP was awarded the first seismic data acquisition contract there. Over the last decade, BGP has provided seismic exploration services for many oil companies in Pakistan. In 2006, BGP won fifteen seismic contracts in the country.

BGP in Oman

In 2003, BGP won two seismic contracts. One is for a 2D seismic survey in Block 5 for DALEEL, and the other is for a 3D project for NOVUS. In the same year, BGP passed the qualification audit of PDO and was continuously awarded several contracts from PDO in the years to follow. A four-year project from PDO commenced in June, 2006, and will be completed in 2010.

In May 28, 2007, Mr. Zheng Huasheng, the president of BGP International, sent a letter to Crew 8622A to congratulate on their outstanding HSE performance of 2 million man-hours without an LTI in three years.
