On December 31, 2004, the release conference of GeoEast-V1.0 was held on schedule in Beijing. GeoEast is an integrated seismic data processing and interpretation system and has been developed by R & D center of BGP. The software CDs of GeoEast-V1.0 were delivered to seven users representatives respectively in the conference.

The GeoEast system incorporates our mature technologies and years experience in seismic processing and interpretation, and provides customers with a whole set of solutions for oil and gas exploration.

• Seismic processing
GeoEast system owns a complete set of 2D/3D land seismic processing functions, inherits from the legacy system some marked techniques, such as static correction and pre-stack noise attenuation and so on, extends its applications to marine data processing, and boasts 3D visualization, velocity modeling (Figure 1) and different pre-stack migration imaging capabilities.

• Geological interpretation
GeoEast version 1.0 owns 2D/3D structural interpretation functions, inherits from GRIStation some distinctive techniques such as miss-tie correction, multi-valued horizon interpretation and multi-section interpretation and so on, and boasts volume interpretation capabilities based on the 3D visualization techniques.
