BGP in Libya

BGP entered the geophysical market in Libya in 2002 by winning 2 contracts (a 2D and a 3D). In 2003, BGP won 3 contracts as well. At the same time, BGP started looking into the markets in Libya’s neighboring countries.

In 2006, Crew 8624 working for Shell achieved over one million man-hours without an LTI operating in Block NC213 and NC215. This won them an award for their excellent and effective HSE performance.

At the end of 2006, TRIPOLI training center was set up to fulfill our promise of localization of middle-and senior-level workers for BGP Libya Branch. Courses, such as General Profile of Seismic Operations, Surveying, and HSE management, are offered to extend the trainees’ skills and knowledge and to increase their HSE awareness.

BGP in Algeria

BGP started its operations in Algeria at the end of 2003. Since then, three crews have been working there. Thanks to the Sonatrach and its international partners, BGP has acquired a dozen of contracts and made its contributions to the oil and gas industry in the country.

BGP crews have experienced all kinds of terrain and climate conditions in Algeria, from mountains to big sand dunes and from the rainy north to the torrid south. The services include the smallest 2D project of 102 kilometers and the largest 3D project with 14,000 receiver stations.

BGP will keep providing its quality services in Algeria by improving its HSE management and speeding up the localization of its human resources to make even greater contributions to the energy industry in Algeria and to the development of harmonic society as well.
