As the energy transition emerges as a defining challenge of our times, geophysical exploration - the foundation of the energy value chain - outlining the dual responsibility of balancing resource development whilst ensuring ecological conservation. BGP stands ready to collaborate with global partners to pursue green development thereby jointly open a new chapter of sustainable development in the geophysical exploration industry.

We have proposed the following three actions for Green Initiative.

First Initiative Action - Innovation-Driven: Pioneering New Model of Exploration includes two measures. One is Innovation-Driven: Pioneering Low-Carbon Operation Modals, such as actively promoting technologies like nodal acquisition and drone operations that reduce environmental impact, developing and deploying low-emission equipment like electric vibrators and vessels, enhancing the energy efficiency of data centers and adopting renewable energy and reducing carbon emission intensity across the entire value stream. Another measure is Safeguarding Ecological Balance, such as continuously advancing resource recycling, emphasizing biodiversity conservation and ecological restoration, and establishing a full-cycle green operational process of "digital reconnaissance - intelligent deployment - naturalized restoration" to achieve harmonious development with the natural environment.

Second Initiative Action - Digital Empowerment: Unleashing New Efficiencies in Exploration includes two measures. One is Building a "Geophysical + AI" Model, such as driving the development of large-scale AI models, implementing intelligent upgrades of core software, advancing digital-intelligent applications in business scenarios, and collectively enhancing operational efficiency and data accuracy whilst reducing costs and risks for our clients.

Another measure is Building a Smart Exploration Ecosystem through opening GeoEast-iEco software development platform to integrate the expertise of global industrial partners, and facilitating collaborative development based on concept of "co-creation, sharing, win-win," establishing a vibrant software ecosystem that empowers exploration.

Third Initiative Action - Green Development: Pioneering New Pathways to Decarbonization includes two measures covering two extended areas. One is Enabling the Exploration and Development of Clean Energy Resources through promoting the efficient development of global geothermal resources and providing integrated gravity-magnetic-electrical-seismic technical services mineral exploration for deep-sea minerals, emerging mineral types and other vital resources.

Another is Advancing Underground Storage Utilization, such as leveraging our expertise in subsurface characterization to deliver secure and reliable technical solutions, and developing geological assessment, site selection, and operational monitoring - for CCUS/CCS and deep underground energy storage applications, thereby accelerating the transition toward net-zero and negative emissions.

A Call for Industry Partners Collaboration:

BGP understands that the transition to green geophysical exploration requires collective efforts across the industry. BGP seeks to partner with global oil and gas companies and geophysical exploration peers to collectively pioneer a new era of green exploration.

BGP will work with oil companies to enhance environmental protection standards for exploration, share expertise in green geophysical technologies, and co-develop a new generation of ecologically friendly exploration solutions.

BGP will collaborate closely with global geophysical organizations to establish platforms for technical exchange and promote the widespread adoption of green exploration best practices.
