BGP is proud to announce the partnership with Staatsolie Maatschappij Suriname N.V. and TGS to kick off a new 3D multi-client seismic survey offshore Suriname. Located south of the recently awarded Blocks 9 and 10, this project marks another key step in BGP's efforts to boost exploration in the high-potential Guyana-Suriname Basin.
Southern Shallow Water Phase 1 Survey: Deepening Geological Understanding
Kicking off in mid-November 2025, the approximately 2,100 sq.km shallow-water survey will draw on BGP’s advanced seismic technology and local operational expertise. It will deliver high-quality data that aligns with existing 3D seismic datasets, supporting Staatsolie’s strategy for responsible hydrocarbon development and investment in Suriname. The data will also benefit operators targeting Upper Cretaceous-Tertiary shallow marine plays.
