On 12th July 2015 BGP’s DFKT2 Vessel successfully completed an OBN project offshore Thailand for Salamander Energy, an Ophir Group Company. The survey was acquired over their Bualuang Field with an areal extent of approximately 90 km2. The final statistics show that a very low down time and stand-by rate was incurred (2.7 and 2.5% respectively). This received high praise by the company.
Subsurface manager Mr. Rawstron said in a letter of commendation: The professionalism of the crew throughout the survey was appreciated by all at Salamander. Initial testing of the data indicates that it is of very high quality and it should help us further develop the Bualuang Field.
The survey went very smoothly and throughout the duration of the project zero HSE incidents occurred. This included overcoming the challenge of noise problems and fishing equipment. The clients gave high praise for a well-executed survey done in a safe and timely matter. Also, the client deemed the overall management of the operation to have a standard equivalent to the ones seen on western vessels.
