The BGP office was established in May 2002 in Algiers and then the company registration was completed in December 2002. In December 2003, BGP was awarded a 2D seismic acquisition contract by PIDC Vietnam and BGP seismic crew 8635 was created to advance into the Algerian exploration market. 

In April 2012, the BGP processing center was set up and enabled BGP to provide integrated services for seismic data acquisition and processing in Algeria.

Up to now, BGP has completed 41 2D/3D onshore seismic data acquisition programs, one offshore 2D program, 20 2D/3D data processing and research projects and one IT project. The representative projects include RUHORDE NOUSS 3D for REPSOL, ZERAFA 2D for SHELL, ISG 3D for BP, HASSI R'mel 3D for SONATRACH PED, TFT 3D for GTFT (joint venture of TOTAL/SONATARCH/REPSOL), SYDN 3D for SONATRACH EXP amongst others.
