Seismic Data Acquisition
BGP registered its Abu Dhabi branch in 2012. Registered business scope includes onshore and offshore seismic exploration, gravity exploration, processing, and interpretation, VSP and other businesses.
|
BGP won the first seismic project in 2017 which became the steppingstone for BGP to enter the exploration market in the UAE. In 2018, BGP was awarded the contract for the world's largest Onshore & Offshore 3D seismic exploration project by ADNOC and since then, BGP has been growing faster and stronger in UAE.

Social Services
The UAE government attaches great importance to environmental and ecological protection. The operation time window in the nature reserves is limited and the environmental protection requirements are high. ADNOC onshore operation area involves 12 protected areas, with a total area of 9,795 square kilometers. Before the operation of the project, the environmental assessment shall be carried out and the permission of EAD shall be obtained, and ecologists shall be employed to guide the work on site.

Seismic Data Processing
The BGP’s Middle East Geophysical Research Center was first established in 2010 in Dubai, and shifted to Abu Dhabi in May 2018. Today, as a regional technical hub, our Abu Dhabi center has considerably expanded its computing power and boasts a dedicated processing and technical supporting team. Main seismic data services include processing, interpretation, G&G studies.
BGP UAE center has developed advanced seismic processing solutions specifically designed to provide high quality seismic image in all terrain, including survey merging processing, surface and interbed multiple suppression, OBN data processing, 5D interpolation and regularization, COV and azimuthal processing, advanced velocity model building such as FWI, and the state-of-the-art imaging techniques including Least Square Migration, Q migration, etc.
BGP UAE center has continuously optimizing solutions to address the most demanding challenges in seismic reservoir features.
BGP has developed many advanced seismic-based reservoir characterization solutions, especially in terms of clastic rock, carbonate rock and unconventional reservoirs, including the spectral decomposition, pre-stack fracture detection, the integrated multidisciplinary information AI inversion, pre-stack geo-statistic inversion, Bayesian inversion (BI), AVAz anisotropic inversion and simultaneous azimuthal inversion.
