BGP Nigeria was entered in Nigeria since 1996. It has acquired over 22,000 sq.km of 3D/4D and 3000km 2D seismic data in Nigeria for Shell, AGIP, NNPC, TotalEnergies, Chevron, CNODC, CONOIL, EERL, BELEMAOIL and PILLAR OIL respectively. BGP operation covers land, swamp, TZ and offshore projects. One processing and Interpretation center which was established in Port Harcourt in 1999.

First introduction of broadband and high-resolution Vibrators in Nigeria.

First completed urban seismic survey with 12 receiver lines in high-populated Port Harcourt city.

First seismic acquisition with 12 Lines by 360 channels in forest area.

1000+ shots were recorded in one day in land/swamp seismic acquisition.

1000+ shots were recorded in one day with vibrator source and the first to do seismic survey at night.

10 Million LTI Free Man-Hours for one project in Swamp Operations.

Accumulated to achieve a total 64 Million Man-hours LTI Free in Land/Swamp seismic operations for Shell since year 2000.

Highest evaluation result in industry By Shell BPR (business performance review).

Awarded meritorious safety performance in continuously 6 years by Shell VP Nigeria from year 2012.

HSE Management

BGP has demonstrated its capability to operate under internationally recognized Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) standards, according to stringent client requirements for major land seismic data acquisition projects. It has set an enviable record in the seismic industry by its achievement of 4 million, 5 million, 6 million, 7 million, 8 million, 9 million and 10 million man-hours without LTI.

Social Services

BGP management is committed to the full implementation of the Nigeria local content requirements. In line with the local content commitment, BGP has established a training center in Port Harcourt where training programs on HSE, geophysics, electrical engineering, equipment, and seismic project management are provided to Nigerians. 

BGP also strives to ensure its best relationships with host communities and acknowledges local regulations, traditions, customs, religions and culture in the course of the operation.
