Since 1999, BGP has followed the footsteps of the ancient Silk Road and started the oil and gas exploration business on the vast territory of Kazakhstan, becoming one of the pioneers of win-win cooperation between two countries.

BGP Kazakhstan was established in 2000, and it is a member of the Kazakhstan Oil and Gas Association. The Company mainly provides services such as seismic acquisition, data processing & interpretation, comprehensive geological research and oilfield informatization.
At present BGP has five offices in different cities (Main Office in Almaty, subdivisions in Aktobe, Atyrau, Kyzylorda and Aktau), three processing & interpretation centers and two 3D seismic crews.

Highlights
BGP vigorously implemented the BGP “Caspian Rim” strategy. In 2013, BGP successfully implemented the first overseas “WBH (Industrialization progress of Wide-azimuth, Broadband, and High-density)” 3D seismic project, which promoted the broadly comprehensive application of this technology in Kazakhstan. It provided a number of exploration and evaluation wells for CNPC, and the participation rate of important oil and gas discoveries reached 100%.

In 2006, BGP assisted CNPC in discovering the North Truva Oilfield, which has become the biggest on-shore discovery since the oil & gas industry of Kazakhstan was founded.
